How do I use the Share Extension?
Open any photo in Photos or another app, tap the Share button, then select ShareClean from the share sheet. Your photo will be cleaned and ready to share instantly.
How do I use ShareClean in Messages?
In a Messages conversation, tap the + button next to the text field, find ShareClean in the app drawer, pick a photo, adjust settings if needed, and tap "Clean & Send."
What metadata does ShareClean remove?
- GPS location and coordinates
- Camera make, model, and serial number
- Lens model and shooting settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)
- Date and time the photo was taken
- Software version
- Apple-specific metadata
- IPTC data
Does ShareClean upload my photos?
No. ShareClean processes everything on your device. Your photos are never sent to any server. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Does cleaning affect photo quality?
Metadata stripping does not affect image quality. If you also resize or compress, the quality depends on your chosen settings. Use the Preview feature to check quality before saving.
What formats are supported?
ShareClean reads HEIC, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and TIFF. Output can be saved as HEIC, JPEG, or PNG.
Where are cleaned photos saved?
By default, cleaned photos are saved to a "ShareClean" album in your photo library. You can change this to Camera Roll or choose each time in Settings.
